After the sell-out Mother Son Breakfast mid May, it is time to treat our dads and granddads at the annual Westlake Boys’ Father Son Breakfast, held on Thursday 7th July in the Westlake Boys Auditorium.

The annual Westlake Boys’ Father Son Breakfasts are a special, once a year occasion and are a wonderful chance for you to spend some quality time with your son enjoying a delicious buffet breakfast. All students, fathers, grandfathers or male role models are invited to attend.

We are very excited that All Blacks Manager, Darren Shand, has found time in his demanding schedule to attend this year’s breakfast as our guest speaker.

About Darren
Darren ShandHawke’s Bay-born Darren Shand, ‘Shandy’, took on the role of All Blacks Manager in 2004 after a four year, very successful stint with the Crusaders. For over a decade he’s played an instrumental role in the All Blacks management team, overseeing many notable All Blacks achievements, recognised in 2014 when he was appointed as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit.

The back-to-back Rugby World Cup Champion Manager graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Physical Education. Instead of following in the footsteps of his parents who are both teachers, Darren pursued thrills and adrenaline rush becoming a jumpmaster for Westlaker AJ Hackett’s Queenstown Bungy and taking over as their marketing manager shortly after.  Darren served as manager of the Canterbury Air New Zealand NPC side from 1999 and also managed New Zealand A during their tour of France, Wales and Romania in 2000 and has now become the bearer of good news for aspiring All Black Squad members. When they see his phone number pop up on their mobile phone display the day before the announcement of the All Black squad, an All Blacks dream has come true.

Tickets to the Father Son Breakfast are on sale at the Uniform Shop in Student Services till Tuesday 5th July, 1.30pm unless sold out prior. Click here to download the ticket order form.
