Headmaster Mr Ferguson invites Scholarship students, parents & staff to attend the 2018 Scholars’ Breakfast.
This is a new event, introduced last year to get scholarship students and their parents together at the beginning of the year. Its aim is to acknowledge and celebrate this special group of academic achievers, as well as using the occasion to deliver messages to motivate and inspire them to do well.
Date & Time: Wednesday 28 March, 7.00am sharp
Venue: Westlake Boys Auditorium
Guest Speaker: Matthew Lie 2012 Dux
As well as being Dux for 2012, Matt was Deputy Head Boy, Cultural Captain and winner of the John Patterson Memorial Trophy. He achieved 5 A* grades in A Level Maths, English Literature, Chemistry, Biology and Physics, as well as Outstanding Scholarships in Chemistry and Calculus and Scholarships in English, Statistics and Physics.
After Westlake, Matt went on to gain a First Class BE(Hons) and ME(Hons) in Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland. He now works for Lanaco as a product development engineer.
