Monday 25th April 2016 marked the one hundred year centenary for the first ANZAC Day, the anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli in World War One in 1915. The day was filled with reflection and remembrance, honouring all New Zealanders who served their country in wars and conflicts.

As has been the tradition for many years, our prefects took part in the Takapuna ANZAC Day Parade and Commemoration service, accompanying Messrs Ferguson and Cachopa.

WP_20160425_09_05_27_ProLed by the North Shore Brass Band, the congregation marched along Lake Road ending at the Takapuna Strand Plaza for the ceremony where Head Boy Antoine Ellis read the ANZAC prayer and prefect Tommy Shiferaw laid a wreath on behalf of our school.

With hundreds of people in attendance of the Takapuna Service unifying local schools, community groups and residents as well as thousands more attending ceremonies nation-wide, the day powerfully resonated a message of remembrance for our past.

Virtute Experiamur, and Lest we Forget
